Freedom Real Estate & Capital (Freedom), Torch Technologies (Torch) and Invariant Corporation (Invariant) have announced they will be breaking ground on a new mixed-use facility in South Huntsville, with a targeted completion date in the summer of 2021.
A new mixed-use office complex for technology companies is coming on south Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, developers say. Freedom Real Estate & Capital is developing the 92,000-square-foot facility at 4040 Chris Drive. Torch Technologies and Invariant Corp. are the first two tenants. The center will have space for offices, research and development labs, light manufacturing, assembly and integration and a high bay, developers said. It is the sixth building on the campus of Torch Technologies, a defense contracting company founded by Bill Roark, who is also the CEO of Freedom Real Estate & Capital.
The project is part of the redevelopment of south Huntsville along South Memorial Parkway, developers and area business leaders said. “Torch has been a catalyst for South Huntsville’s revitalization since the very beginning,” said Bekah Schmidt, CEO of South Huntsville Business Main Association. “We look forward to seeing this project completed next year and appreciate Torch’s continued investment in South Huntsville.”
